“Therefore,
I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living
sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s
will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2
It is hard to believe that the
third week of this DTS has already begun! Time has been flying by so fast and
we have been learning so much already. There are four students here who have
arrived from Africa, Canada and Finland to “offer
their bodies as living sacrifices” just as Romans 12:1-2 directs. We are all
excited and anticipate everything God has planned for this new season!
The first week of teaching focused
on Hearing God. We learned about the Nature and Character of God and the
different ways He speaks to us. We were also taught about how to make sure it
is God’s voice we are listening to. Therefore, when we pray, we shouldn’t be
doing all the talking. We also need to allow Him to speak to us! Then God can instruct, teach, and counsel us just as
it says in Psalms 32:8.
Week two was all about finding
who we are in Christ. Our teacher for this week, from Australia, shared
Galations 2:20 which clearly states this new identity! “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ
lives in me!” He also emphasized the
importance of making sure our hearts don’t become hard and full of unbelief.
Hebrews 3:12 warns us to “See to it,
brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from
the living God.” Then Friday afternoon we practiced our faith and prayed
for healing. An uneven leg grew! A foot matched the size of the other! Stiff
joints were loosened to allow more flexibility! And a blind eye was beginning
to see more clearly! God is good! His gifts have been given! We just need to
believe and receive!

Älkää mukautuko tämän maailman menoon, vaan muuttukaa, uudistukaa mieleltänne, niin että osaatte arvioida, mikä on Jumalan tahto, mikä on hyvää, hänen mielensä mukaista ja täydellistä"

On vaikeeta uskoa, että kolmas viikko tätä dts on jo alkanut! Aika on mennyt tosi nopeesti ja me ollaan opittu jo nyt tosi paljon kaikkea. Täällä on neljä oppilasta, jotka tulevat Afrikasta, Kanadasta ja Suomesta "antaakseen koko elämänsä eläviksi uhreiksi" niinkuin Roomalaiskirje 12:1-2 kehottaa. Me kaikki ollaan innoissaan kaikesta, mitä Jumala on suunnitellut tälle uudelle kaudelle!
Ensimmäinen opetusviikko keskittyi Jumalan äänen kuulemiseen. Opimme Jumalan ominaisuuksista ja luonteenpiirteistä ja niistä eri tavoista, joilla Hän puhuu meille. Meille myös opetettiin, että miten tietää onko se Jumalan ääni, jota me kuuntelemme. Sen vuoksi, kun me rukoillaan meidän ei tulis koko ajan vaan puhua. Meidän myös tulee sallia Hänen puhua meille! Silloin Jumala voi ohjata, opettaa ja neuvoa meitä niinkuin Psalmissa 32:8 sanotaan.
Viikolla kaksi puhuttiin meidän identiteettimme löytämisestä Kristuksessa. Viikon puhujamme Epeli Australiasta jakoi Galatalaiskirjeen 2:20 mikä selvästi kertoo meidän uudesta identiteetistämme! "En enää elä minä, vaan Kristus elää minussa!" Hän myös korosti sen tärkeyttä, että varmistamme, että sydämemme ei kovetu ja täyty epäuskosta. Heprealaiskirje 3:12 varoittaa meitä "Varokaa siis, veljet, ettei kukaan teistä ole sydämessään paha ja epäuskoinen ja näin luovu elävästä Jumalasta." Sitten perjantai-iltapäivänä harjoitimme uskoamme ja rukoilimme parantumista. Eripituinen jalka kasvoi! Jalasta tuli saman kokoinen kuin toisesta! Jäykkiin niveliin tuli enemmän joustavuutta! Ja sokea silmä alkoi nähdä selvemmin! Jumala on hyvä! Hän jakaa lahjojaan! Meidän täytyy vaan uskoa ja vastaanottaa!
