This week was good, we just came from Kolari, Lappland on Saturday. It felt like we all had little bit of flu or cold from the trip. Many were sick but it didn't discourage us God's children ;) The weeks teacher and speaker was Jeff Romack from USA. It was probably Sunday when Jeff came here in Koivumäki. My first thought was when this tall American guy came to me and shook my hand and said ”Hi I'm Jeff” was that where they get all of these speakers from? It is good when God leads different people in our lives and it is God's grace and richness that we are able to meet people from different cultures :) God's ways are unknown and it gives me, this guy from Finland, something to wonder about ;D The teaching was good and God was present ;) I felt a bit bad when it felt like everyone was a bit sick and Jeff got flu as well. We prayed for each other, especially for those who were feeling weak :D On the weekend we watched couple of great movies and just relaxed a bit after rough week ;) Blessings and greetings from here to other YWAM bases, especially to Ruurikkala's base ”we are coming to visit your base, pray for our road trip”.

Tämä viikko oli hyvä, olimme tulleet juuri Lapista Kolarista lauvantaina. Tuntui vähän kun viikko alkoi että olimme jonkun pöpön saaneet matkalla. Moni oli sairaana, mutta se ei meitä Jumalan lapsia lannistanut ;) Viikon opettajana ja puhujana oli Jeff Romack Usa:sta. Taisi olla sunnuntai kun Jeff astui tänne Koivumäelle. Ensimmäinen ajatukseni oli taas kun iso jenkki astui eteeni ja puristi kädestäni ja sanoi ”Hi I`m Jeff” Mietin että ”mistä nää hankkii näitä ihmisiä tänne puhumaan”. Se on hyvä kun Jumala johdattaa erillaisia ihmisiä meidän elämäämme se on suurta Jumalan armoa ja rikkautta kun saa tutustua erillaisiin kulttuureihin ja ihmisiin :) Jumalan tiet ovat tuntemattomat ja niin oli taas ihmettelemistä hieman suomi poijjal ;D Opetus oli hyvää ja Herra oli läsnä ;) Vähän se harmitti kun tuntui että kaikki oli hieman kipeitä, Jeff tuli kanssa flunssaan, rukoilimme toistemme puolesta ja varsinkin niitten puolesta joilla oli heikko olo. :D Viikonloppuna katottiin pari huikeaa leffaa, ja päästiin vähän oikasemaan ittemme rankan viikon jälkeen hyvän leffan pariin ;) Siunausta Terveiset täältä muihin YWAM beisseihin ja etenkin Ruurikkalan beissiin extra terkut ”here we come to visit your base , pray our roadtrip to there”

I write my part of our Koivumäki blog with joy. In the midst of wintry forest landscapes we have experienced God's mercy and His work in each one of us. It has been freezing outside but inside our hearts the fire of the Holy Spirit has warmed us. We have grown in love and in fellowship with each others.
We did our one-week outreach to Lapland, Kolari, the last week of February. We were kindly accomodated in Kolari's pentecostal church's building. Lot of things happened in that week. We were visiting elderly people's homes praying and singing hymns with them. And in elementary schools we did different dramas and skits. I hope the children felt pleased about our visits.

We took part to the Sunday service and to prayer and fellowship night in church's second hand store. We were praying for a woman whose mother was seriously sick. The last day we went to Ylläs to evangelize. The view was amazing and it was nice to see the beauty of God's creation.
I feel that our outreach in Lapland brought us all closer to each other and God. Every one did their part wonderfully and everyhing went well every one working together in unity. Problematic situations we solved together in prayer. The last night God gave us a big answer to prayer in the form of the northern lights. It felt great to sing worship songs on the lake when it was frosty and just watch God's gorgeous show in the sky. I couldn't imagine any better ending for the outreach.

Ilolla kirjoitan oman osuuteni tähän meidän Koivumäen blogiin. Keskellä talvisia metsämaisemia olemme saaneet kokea Jumalan armoa ja työtä meissä kaikissa. Pakkaset ovat paukkuneet ulkona, mutta sydämissämme on lämmittänyt Jumalan Pyhän Hengen tuli. Olemme kasvaneet rakkaudessa ja keskinäisessä yhteydessä toisiimme.

Teimme viikon aktiomme Lappiin, Kolariin, helmikuun viimeisellä viikolla. Meidät majoitettiin ystävällisesti Kolarin helluntaiseurakunnan tiloihin. Viikkoon mahtui paljon erilaista tekemistä. Kohtasimme vanhuksia palvelutaloilla ja vanhainkodissa rukouksen ja virsien laulun merkeissä. Ala-koululaisille lapsille kävimme esittämässä draamaa ja sketsejä. Toivon, että lapset kokivat iloa vierailuistamme.

Osallistuimme sunnuntain Jumalanpalvelukseen seurakunnassa sekä rukouksen ja yhteyden iltaan seurakunnan kirpputorilla. Rukoilimme naisen puolesta, jonka äiti oli vakavasti sairaana. Viimeisenä päivänä teimme matkan Ylläkselle tunturievankelioimaan. Maisemat loistavat, oli hienoa katsella Jumalan luomakunnan kauneutta.

Koen, että aktiomme Lapissa toi meitä lähemmäs toisiamme ja Jumalaa. Kaikki hoitivat hienosti oman osuutensa ja asiat sujuivat lämpimän yhteistyön merkeissä. Ongelmatilanteet ratkaisimme yhdessä ollen rukouksessa. Viimeisenä iltana Jumala järjesti meille rukousvastauksen upeiden revontulten muodossa. Tuntui mahtavalta laulaa pakkasessa Sieppijärven jäällä ylistyslauluja katsellen Jumalan luomaa upeaa esitystä taivaalla. En olisi parempaa päätöstä aktiolle osannut kuvitella.

Week 3 our speaker came from the Philippines .She taught us on how to Worship and have an intimacy relationship with Christ. Through this lifestyle we see how our lives; body, mind and soul are being transformed to Christ-like. By worship we are sanctify the Lord God in our heart (1Pet3;15).

It is amazing to hear the voice of God and obey. Honouring is very important, so do not under estimates someone because you cannot see all gifts that people have .
Worship is not only to sing or dance to the Lord, but can also be creative and build a tablenacle. And so we are recounting the Lord faithfulness to us, which also help to change the atmosphere because we have become branded new by” HIS NAME.
As an African, coming from where it is so hot and so warm. I never thought of coming to stay in a country which is so cold and freezing with temperature always (-degree). But if you have faith with God all will be possible, seeing snow in my first time and even though is so cold I fall in love with it,.Waoo is so amazing that if we abide and continue dwelling in the presence of the Lord the is no barrenness in us because we have being” washed in the word” and “digested HIS words”



Kolmannen viikkomme puhuja tuli Filippiineiltä. Hän opetti meille miten palvoa ja olla läheisessä suhteessa Kristuksen kanssa. Tämän elämäntavan kautta me voimme nähdä elämämme; ruumiimme, mielemme ja sielumme muuttuvan enemmän Kristuksen kaltaisuuteen. Palvonnan avulla pyhitämme Herran Jumalan sydämissämme (1.Piet.3:15).

On uskomatonta kuulla Jumalan ääntä ja totella. Kunnioittaminen on erittäin tärkeää, joten älä aliarvoi ketään vaikket näkisi niitä lahjoja, joita ihmisillä on.
Palvonta ei ole ainoastaan Herralle laulamista ja tanssimista, mutta se voi olla myös luovaa ja voimme rakentaa Hänelle ilmestysmajan. Me myös muistelimme Herran uskollisuutta meitä kohtaan, joka myös auttaa muuttamaan ilmapiiriä, koska meidät on merkitty Hänen nimellään.
Afrikkalaisena tulen paikasta, jossa on todella kuumaa ja lämmintä. En koskaan kuvitellut, että tulisin olemaan maassa, jossa on aina niin kylmä ja jäätävä sää (-asteita). Mutta jos sinulla on uskoa Jumalaan kaikki on mahdollista. Olen nähnyt täällä lumen ensikertaa ja vaikka se oli todella kylmää ihastuin lumeen. Vau on niin uskomatonta, että jos me pysymme Herran läsnäolossa ei mikään ole hedelmätöntä meissä, koska meitä puhdistetaan sanalla ja sisäistämme Hänen Sanaansa.                                                                            

Winter DTS 2013 Blog #2

“…But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed…” Isaiah 53

The past week of teaching was on the Pain of the Heart! This topic can be very sensitive for a lot of people. But running from the past and ignoring your pain can be very destructive. One concept we learned was the Iceberg Model. People are like icebergs! The part of a person that you can see is their personality and outward appearance. That’s the part of the iceberg that shows above the waterline. However, most of the iceberg is below the waterline. That is where people hide their pain…the pain of their heart. The three things that the pain of the heart mostly affects are our relationships, finances, and health. God is never the cause of our pain, however, most of the time He gets blamed. But in John 16:33 God already promised us that “in this world, we will have trouble!” But we can find peace because he has overcome the world! In order to begin healing of the heart, we need a revelation of the cross. Jesus not only died to free us from our sins, but also to free us from our pain. It is clearly written in Isaiah 53 that we are already healed because Christ already took the punishment. So instead of blaming Him for our pain, we should thank Him and ask Him to carry it with us.

Thought of the day: Hurt people hurt people. But forgiven people forgive people!

”..meidän rikkomuksemme olivat hänet lävistäneet ja meidän pahat tekomme hänet ruhjoneet. Hän kärsi rangaistuksen, jotta meillä olisi rauha, hänen haavojensa hinnalla me olemme parantuneet...” Jesaja 53

Viime viikon opetusaihe oli Sydämen kivut. Tämä aihe voi olla erittäin arka monille. Mutta voi olla erittäin tuhoisaa juosta pakoon omaa menneisyyttään ja sivuuttaa kipunsa. Yksi käsitteistä, jonka opimme on Jäävuorimalli. Ihmiset ovat kuin jäävuoria. Se osa jonka voit nähdä ihmisestä on heidän persoonallisuutensa ja ulkoisen olemuksen. Ja sen on osa jäävuorta, jonka voit nähdä vedenpinnan yläpuolella. Kuitenkin suurin osa jäävuorta on vedenpinnan alapuolella. Sinne ihmiset piilottavat kipunsa.. sydämensä kivut. Kolme aluetta, joihin sydämen kivut eniten vaikuttavat ovat meidän ihmissuhteemme, talous ja terveys. Jumala ei koskaan aiheuta meille kipua kuitenkin suurimmaksi osaksi Häntä syytetään niistä. Joh.16:33 Jumala jo lupasi meille että ”maailmassa olette ahtaalla!” Mutta me voimme löytää rauhan, koska Hän on voittanut maailman! Jotta sydämemme voi alkaa parantua me tarvitsemme ilmestystä rististä. Jeesus ei vain kuollut vapauttaakseen meidät synneistämme, mutta myös vapauttaakseen meidät kaikista kivuistamme. Jesaja 53 selkeästi sanotaan, että me olemme parannetut, koska Kristus kantoi jo rangaistuksen. Sen sijaan, että syyttäisimme Häntä kivuistamme meidän tulisi kiittää Häntä ja pyytää Häntä kantamaan se meidän kanssamme.

Päivän ajatus: satutetut ihmiset satuttavat toisia. Mutta niille joille on annettu anteeksi, ne myös antavat anteeksi.
